World Rugby Council Decisions: Notice of Law Application Guideline
At its Annual Meeting held on May 22, 2019 Council approved the High Tackle Sanction Framework and agreed that the High Tackle Sanction Framework would be implemented as a Law Application Guideline.
Council agreed that all World Rugby competitions and international matches will adopt the Framework with immediate effect. Other competitions currently in progress are encouraged to implement the Framework as soon as possible and, in any event, no later than the start of the next competition window (for those competitions currently underway). Please liaise with the competitions in your jurisdiction to ensure adoption.
The High Tackle Sanction Framework is attached in English, French and Spanish. An explanatory video of the High Tackle Sanction Framework will be available from Friday May 24, 2019 at the following link: http://laws.worldrugby.org/?language=EN.
Should you have any questions on the attached Framework, please do not hesitate to contact Mark Harrington, World Rugby Head of Technical Services (mark.harrington@worldrugby.org).
Yours sincerely,
David Carrigy
